The last book on my list is one I’ve always loved: One Up on Wall Street, by legendary investor Peter Lynch. Yeah that Lynch, the one with his name on the marquee. He beat the market for fifteen years. Statistically most traders bust out after ten years. A lot of the advice in the book, like making sure you buy a home before investing in stocks, is outdated. Homes are regularly a huge money pit of debt for today’s young people. But his investing advice is timeless and applies to any market.
Day trading takes time, patience and dedication. When I was day trading stocks in 2012/2013, it consumed a lot of my time. When day trading you are looking for a point to enter a trade and a point to exit a trade. The goal is to use the information you have alongside the charts to find an opportunity to make a profit. You may hold a trade for a matter of minutes, hours or days. Rarely though are you long term investing. Your investment timescale is usually based on the signals the charts are giving you.
When you print lots of money, inflation goes up which makes the currency value going down. Since there is a limited amount of Bitcoins and this holds true for the majority of the other cryptocurrencies, the supply side can’t increase which makes Bitcoin less prone to being affected by inflation.
Unlike forex, stocks and options etc., altcoin markets have very different dynamics. New ones are always popping up which means they don’t have a lot of market data and historical perspective for you to backtest against. Most of the altcoins have rather poor liquidity as well . How do you come up with a reasonable plan and test it given these complications?
Miles is the co-founder of Pure Investments. In May 2017, he started off by playing with $1,000, which he accumulated through saving 10% of his paychecks for a while. Today, he is at $46,000; i.e., he grew his portfolio by 46x in less than a year.
Yawn, I know. Perhaps you’re just out to make a quick buck day trading, but if you want to make sensible investments and leverage them in your favor, you need to understand the value that causes their growth. You wouldn’t buy into a company you know nothing about, would you?
The first digital coin introduced was Bitcoin and today it remains as the standard that all other coins compare themselves to. Following in its steps came Litecoin, so to date they stand as the top 2 highly valued coins on the market. There are several other coins also reaching a high-level market share such as Bitcoin Cash, Dash, Ripple, Ethereum, Monero and NEO.
Dear Friends! D4rkEnergY is so happy to be back! He was banned for 24 hours for using swear words, so that’s why you guys haven’t heard from me. Before I’ll start with the analysis, I will say some few words. Let me be very clear! My 15,000 USD prediction will probably be wrong. I told you – I’m not afraid to admit, if I make a mistake. I will say, that every …
I meant the Aristotelian Mean, a balance in approaching all subjects in life, including self support (money) and leisure. If you sit and compare your bank account to everybody else’s you are silly, no doubt. If you grow a large bank account because you enjoy things like a fine Scotch or owning your own airplane so you can take off and fly to New Zealand to rock climb, that’s not a bad thing at all.
I try and keep on top of crypto news through Reddit and Bitcointalk, but there’s plenty I miss. I like cryptocointraders.ORG because it fills in those gaps. First trade earned me more then a year subscription costs.
It’s very very easy to make mad money when the market is on an upswing, less so when cryptocurrency enters a bear market. Talented traders, and those with information, can make money on the way up and on the way down.
Hi traders, Below two main indicators that will help you identify a trend change. 1. Higher highs, Higher lowers – Current resistance ( supply zone ) is at $9400. 2. If Bitcoin reaches the supply zone, a small correction (such as a bullish flag ) is welcomed, otherwise not so good. ** Moving Averages won’t work at this current stage. #Part …
Bankroll management – This is actually a gamblers term but it applies to day trading just as much. It means managing the amount you are trading on a daily basis. You should be trading about 1 to 3 percent of your total bankroll on trades per day. So if you have $10k in crypto, you should be day trading with no more than $300 a day at the most. Now I know right now you are probably saying that is too low, but trust me, successful day traders who actually make a living doing this do NOT trade a huge percentage of their bankroll everyday. If you do that, eventually you will lose it all, and this is the biggest mistake I see people making when trying to day trade. They are trading with 50% or more of their total bankroll in crypto. The only reason you should ever do that is if you have inside information.
Kraken works well through SEPA, has an easy verification process (expect 4-6 weeks vetting with current backlog) compared to Bitstamp, and is very knowledgeable when it come to cryptography and security. As of early 2017, this platform has been re-positioning themselves as a crypto exchange by adding multiple new altcoins. I’ve written an in-depth Kraken review with everything you need to know..
Sneaky con artists are pursuing cryprocurrency amateurs with forged landing papers for renowned exchange desks such as Binance, a leading platform. The landing papers have been purposely devised to look genuine. After a user lands on one of these pages that are fake, all links that can be clicked have been set to direct visitors […]
It’s definitely possible but you have to be able to recognize opportunities regardless of market behavior. The market moves relative to the price of BTC.. so even if BTC is in a down trend you can make money by purchasing altcoins that are oversold by trading the altcoin-to-BTC ratios. Sure, your purchasing power in USD may be lower but as long as your purchasing power in BTC is still increasing you’ll be ok.
For stock market investors, investing in Bitcoin indirectly through a listed security such as an ETF, ETP, or trust may be suitable for those looking at taking a passive position. Active traders might find the limited trading hours and potential lack of volume a limiting factor that could hinder their trading. Overall, using listed securities that invest, track, or hold Bitcoin can be a viable alternative to diversify away from the risks of margin trading or safeguarding private keys when buying the underlying.
Don’t be greedy. No one ever lost money taking a profit. As a coin begins to grow, the greed inside us grows along with it. If a coin increases by 30%, why not consider taking profit? Even if goals are set to 40% or 50%, you should at least pull out some of the profit on the way up in case a coin doesn’t reach the goal. If you wait too long or try to get out at a higher point, you risk losing profit you already earned or even turning that profit into a loss. Get into the habit of taking profits and scouting for re-entry if you want to continue reaping potential profits.
Sadly, with the demise of Cryptsy there is a need for a new major first-rate cryptocurrency exchange (aka altcoins). Having many medium-sized cryptocurrency exchange sites is a better situation than having one large amazing option. Bittrex (new account creation temporarily disabled) has now replaced Poloniex as the largest most amazing option. Its platform is functional enough to have attracted tens of millions of new customer every month. Things feel smooth when using Bittrex. All big and small trading pairs are offered and it is now possible to do cryptocurrency margin trading on major altcoins. This is a cool feature, but use it with caution as leveraged trading has a certain risk factor. Keep in mind that some of the best bitcoin exchange sites also do altcoins. Yobit, Bittrex, Cryptopia and Changelly, are great options worth checking out. Some even offer short selling on major coins.
The trading platform is the software with which you actually will trade the cryptocurrencies. It is the place where you will open and close your trades and is the most important aspect for your success. If the platform does not perform way you want or does not provide you with the tools you think you need then this is not the right broker for you.
China has banned cryptocurrency trading and initial coin offerings (ICO) in late 2017 and reaffirmed its negative stance towards the market this year. Still, local developers are continuing to introduce innovative Blockchain projects on the global stage.
The company says that residents of California, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana and New Hampshire can can now buy or sell bitcoin and ether using the new Robinhood Crypto platform. The service will also allow investors to track 14 other cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin cash, litecoin, XRP, ethereum classic, zcash, monero, bitcoin gold and dogecoin.
Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies are opening the doors to a new type of digital money, which we think has the potential to someday become a leading currency of the world. At the moment, even the oldest of cryptocurrencies are still maturing and only time will tell where this genius invention is heading. From what we can tell, there is plenty room for advancement. At the same time, Bitcoin has already revolutionized the digital world.
George Soros said when there’s a bubble, there’s a lot of money. The crypto currencies certainly have bubble periods, but GEORGE SOROS is making billions when there’s a bubble craze in the Market. This article simply magnified or endorsed the Soros financial strategy
Don’t FOMO. This is a spot that people most frequently lose money on. A dash of manipulation, two tablespoons of media hype, a cup of CME and CBOE announcements, and a generous handful of FOMO drove Bitcoin prices from $10,000 to $20,000 in December. Since that time, Bitcoin fell to a low of $9,000 and is currently sitting at around $11,000. It’s easy to look back and say, “if only I waited one month, then I could’ve bought at $9,000 instead of waiting for Bitcoin to hit $20,000 again for me to break even.” But the reality is, the combination of 1) being greedy, 2) investing blindly, and 3) FOMO were likely large contributors to the purchase at an all-time-high. Even in the crazy world of cryptocurrency, if a coin pumps that quickly, it will correct — it’s a matter of time. Speculative pumps are almost always followed by dips. While trying to jump onto a train going full speed sounds like something straight out of a James Bond movie, I’m sure most of us can agree we would probably save some limbs if we just waited for it at the next stop.
I love your excitement.. As for books, unfortunately there mostly all garbage and ihave read a ton of trading books. Nothing like learning direct from a fulltime trader who makes his living in the markets. Especially if that trader isn’t trying to sell you anything. The best people to learn from are those who don’t want anything from you because they are already successful on there own. I make plenty of money trading, I’m just happy to help others in my spare time 🙂
The majority of cryptocurrency exchanges have a free a wallet along the ability to trade, but we suggest, that you don’t put all your cryptos in one place. This way you can minimize your risk of an exchange going broke (f.e. MT GOX), being scammed or getting hacked.
