The word “altcoin” is shortened from alternative cryptocurrency coin. A large share of these altcoins is a variant of Bitcoin. Altcoins are built using Bitcoin’s original, open-source protocol with certain modifications to its underlying code. With the changes done to the code, a fresh coin is conceived with a new set of features. Some examples of altcoins include Peercoin, Litecoin, Dodgecoin, Auroracoin, and Namecoin.
“We believe that cryptocurrencies have the potential to fundamentally reorganize the way money works from the ground up, putting power previously held by financial institutions directly in the hands of the people,” Robinhood added in its announcement.

Given the huge breaches at e-currency holding/trading companies (see Mt. Gox), the huge rise then immediate halving of the value of Bitcoin, I’m not certain I’d put much faith in Bitcoin right now, even though at one time I was a prime advocate for it and even own some (now defunct) external hardware miners. Mt. Gox blew a lot of faith and confidence in the market that I haven’t really seen recover much over the year.
There are alternatives out there though. A friend of mine who is well connected in the crypto space, Derrick, has teamed up with the legendary Diggy Dirk and created a platform for newbie cryptocurrency traders and enthusiasts – Keys To Freedom.
So how do you know if you should invest in an ICO? It’s not about science, it is important to pay attention to the level of seriousness of the project and its team. Look for the project’s website (does it look like a child has built it during computer school?), Who is the team behind the project – Are they hiding behind nicknames or proudly present themselves on their website? Pay attention to Bitcointalk thread (does it exist at all?) and how the team members respond to technical questions. Is there a large community behind the project? Expect to see a Slack gathering its community. Watch out the amount raised: A project which had raised too little will probably will not be able to develop over time, a project which had raised huge amount – there won’t be enough investors left out there to buy coins on exchanges. And most importantly is risk management. Never put all eggs in one basket and invest too much of your portfolio in one ICO.
No, the successful trader is not me. I’ve gotten lucky a few times and I’m still refining and trying out strategies; on the other hand, I’m part of communities of people who trade on a daily basis to grow their portfolios, and while some of the results can be attributed to luck, a majority of it is based on fundamentals, good habits, and experience.

1st thing, you should always expect that something could go wrong with a trade and therefor you always size your entry so that it wouldn’t hurt you too bad. Buy no more than 25% of your account in one position. That being said, if you learn to read charts, you will almost never have a bad trade, therefore on the rare occasion when it does turn the wrong way, you wont mind just taking the small loss and jumping into the next trade without hiccup. But yeah I will cover these topics in some videos, I’m writing a note right now, thanks for your topic suggestions. And Thank you very much for the vote!!
The BTC price fell dramatically last few days. There are strong impulsive legs with small corrections moves. The sellers are fully controlling the price, as we see the strong bearish bars on H1 BTC chart. The price broke out previous structure low at $9405; that support now acts as resistance level. There are two options to follow the market in this scenario. …

Let us make a 10:1 leverage example. Let the Bitcoin price be $500. Let us assume that you only have 500 USD but you want to buy 10 BTC. This is possible, but you will have to pay an interest for borrowing $5000 after you close your position. For example, the BTC closes at $550. So you have made $500 or a 100% earnings for only a 10% price increase. From this earnings, you will only need to subtract the interest rate (about 2%) and you have your final profit/loss, which is higher if you predicted the course of the trade correctly.

Finally, if you want low fees but still want to go the traditional exchange route, I’d recommend either Gemini, a New York-based site which offers some of the lowest fees around (but doesn’t operate in all states so check first to see if your state is catered for), or Kraken, which also charges low fees but can be a bit tricky for new users and the customer service isn’t all that great.
