Safety rules were written with blood. That statement sounds familiar to every soldier around. Although we are not dealing with a risk to human lives, losing your expensive Bitcoins by making mistakes trading is definitely not a fun situation.
Lol well don’t we have a little Dogecoin defender on our hands. Sorry bud, but Dogecoin started as a joke and it will continue to be a joke. All cryptos serve a purpose in the sense that they can and hopefully will be an official alternative to a centralized monetary system. However, there are also coins out there that were designed for a specific purpose. For instance, PotCoin was designed to be other official currency for the Pot industry. It’s already accepted by over 3,000 dispensaries nationwide and growing. Mazacoin was created as the official currency for the Traditional Lakota Nation. Those are just a couple examples out of a bunch. Dogecoin, however, started as a joke and will continue to be a joke unless they step up their game.
Only time I ever somewhat daytrade is if I see an obvious pump, no news or announcements on a coin I already hold with a monstrous 1h candle, then wait a few hours and buy back in near where it was before the pump. Happened yesterday with Link. Sold at .9700 and bought back in a few mins ago at .8200.
One way to tell if a stock price is over/undervalued is by reading moving averages. Moving averages are plotted on stock charts to help smooth out volatility and point out the direction a stock may be trending. As short-term moving averages (red line below) cross over long-term moving averages (black line), this sometimes is followed by accelerated movement in the price. Also pay attention to spikes in trade volume, as this may imply that strong sentiments of fear or excitement just entered the market.
Embrace volatility – Cryptocurrencies are famously volatile. The price of Bitcoin, for example, went from $3,000 down to $2,000 and then leapt up to nearly $5,000, all within three months in 2017. Whilst this means risk is high, it also means the potential for profit is great too. It’s always sensible to check the volatility of the exchange you decide to go with.
You only need $25,000 to trade penny stocks if you open a margin account. If you open a regular Cash account then you can daytrade with any amount, only drawback is you have to wait a settlement period of 3 days after each trade to get the proceeds of that trade back into your account. Also these rules only apply to traders in the U.S. .. Other countries have different rules… As far as your question on coins, I am invested in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Steemit, and Library.. I have core positions in each of those, that I will not sell for years to come.. But almost daily I am trading many of the other altcoins, in and out, to grow my Bitcoin pot.
Oh and I did make money. I was just mad I didn’t make more. That’s when I knew I needed to take a break and do nothing for a day. I got up late, took a walk, ate a nice breakfast and apologized for being a jerk to my beautiful lady.
Bitcoin and popular altcoins can be found on TradingView, through the free, real-time data of 25 exchanges. Cryptocurrencies are somewhat similar to precious metals, in that their creation is controlled and most have a cap on the amount of units, just like precious metals, which have limited minable amounts. One of our most popular chats is the Cryptocurrencies chat where traders talk in real-time about where the Cryptocurrency market is going.
That said, you can rely on some of the more well-known trading indicators like Bollinger Bands, RSI, and MACD to help you decide when to place trades, but cryptos are an entirely different beast. Expect more false signals than you would in conventional markets.
Be more cautious about investing your 401k into Barry Silbert’s Bitcoin Investment Trust $GBTC. The (European) XBT Provider ETN is an open-ended fund which means it maintains a premium to the NAV close to 0% at all times. The Bitcoin Investment Trust is an inferior investment vehicle because it is a closed-end fund (it does not increase its holdings of the underlying asset when demand for the product increases) which means it is subject to wild swings in its premium, which has been as high as 150%. So you could make mistake of buying when the premium is high and suffer swingeing losses even when the Bitcoin price is stable.

One thing I’ve noticed is that the media, especially Twitter, can have huge effects of the market. If you decide that cryptocurrency is your new thing, if this is where you want to spend your time, then I strongly recommend that you educate yourself and improve your understanding of who to follow, who to trust, when to buy and when to hold.
Before you choose a broker and trial different platforms, there are a few straightforward things to get your head around first. Understanding and accepting these three things will give you the best chance of succeeding when you step into the trading arena.
Coinbase has some serious competition. Today, Robinhood starts rolling out its no-commission cryptocurrency trading feature in California, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana and New Hampshire. Users there can buy and sell Bitcoin and Ethereum with no extra fees, and everyone can track those and 14 other coins in its sleek app. That’s compared to paying 1.5 to 4 percent fees in the U.S. on Coinbase. Users can sign up on the Robinhood Crypto site to waitlist for access.
The path to cryptocurrencies began in the 1980s. To protect the cash of gas stations and small shops, banks started developing and pushing the concept of point of sale. According to this idea, the customers were allowed to use a credit card in place of cash to buy products.
Idealogical posts or comments about politics are considered nonconstructive, off-topic, and will be removed. Exceptions will be made for analysis of political events and how they influence cryptocurrency.
Truth be told, there is no profit to be made in Dogecoin. The community offers nothing but stupid gifs, knitted Dogecoin sweaters from grandma, and dumb crafts made by girlfriends. Don’t be so butthurt. You know I’m right.
Because Bitcoin has no repository or single administrator, and since all of the code used for its own functionally is open source, it is considered to be a truly decentralized system. The Bitcoin community itself makes decisions on what needs to be implemented in the code and what needs to be rectified. In order for Bitcoin to work correctly, each version of the Bitcoin Core software has to be compatible with each other, so everyone has to make the decision regarding all updates to the software, otherwise those who do not agree with the update will not be able to be a part of the Bitcoin network. Since the computing power of the users on the network is needed to keep Bitcoin alive, it is in the developers’ interest to keep everyone happy with the decision that they make. Furthermore, since all of the code is open source, it is practically impossible to shift any power over Bitcoin to a single user or a group of users because this part of the code would be identified quickly and brought to light, making most of the users very unhappy with an attempt to centralize the currency.
