While the treatment of Hard Forks and similar events (incl. “airdrops” and other token allocation events) is uncertain from a legal and practical perspective, Swissquote’s current policy in this regard is to make its best efforts to have its concerned clients benefit from such events, the way Swissquote deems appropriate. For more details, please refer to the Cryptocurrencies Trading Contract, in particular article 6, and to Swissquote’s communication on Bitcoin and Hard Forks dated 13 November 2017.
A beginner might prefer to trade cryptocurrency stocks on the stock market (GBTC is a trust that owns Bitcoin and sells shares of it; trading this avoids you having to trade cryptocurrency directly). The main Bitcoin stock here in 2018 is GBTC. Be aware that GBTC trades at a premium (meaning bitcoins are cheaper than buying shares of the GBTC trust), which isn’t ideal. Also, cryptocurrency trading is a 24-hour market, where the traditional stock market is not. Learn more about the GBTC Bitcoin Trust and the related pros and cons before you invest.
So how do you know if you should invest in an ICO? It’s not about science, it is important to pay attention to the level of seriousness of the project and its team. Look for the project’s website (does it look like a child has built it during computer school?), Who is the team behind the project – Are they hiding behind nicknames or proudly present themselves on their website? Pay attention to the Bitcointalk thread (does it exist at all?) and how the team members respond to technical questions. Is there a large community behind the project? Expect to see a Slack gathering its community. Watch out the amount raised: A project which had raised too little will probably will not be able to develop over time, a project which had raised huge amount – there won’t be enough investors left out there to buy coins on exchanges. And most importantly is risk management. Never put all eggs in one basket and invest too much of your portfolio in one ICO.
Consider the situation now. What will be the source of your special insight into crypto prices and trends? The web is now ubiquitous and there seem to be no particularly arcane sources of info. (One exception though: listen to fresh cryptocurrency podcasts and immediately buy anything that’s mentioned (not investment advice, just a theoretical proposal). Another exception: actually understand the technology, and judge what is sound rather than hyped.).

People are getting excited about Hempcoin (THC) because it’s slowly but surely starting to re-surface again and receive some of the media’s attention that it deserves. Even though a couple of competitors recently showed up (PotCoin and CannabisCoin) – Hempcoin is actually the oldest technologies and coins – not just in the industry – but in the crypto world altogether. Hempcoin was founded back in 2014 and its sole purpose is to act as a digital currency for the Agriculture/Farming industry and naturally – the Hemp/Marijuana field.
The reason you do this is because eventually you will go through a losing streak of trades, it will happen. If you are using a large portion of your bankroll, you will be losing leverage as well which you will need to get back your losses. What that means is you need even larger returns just to break even. So every losing streak needs to have an astonishing winning streak right after just so you can break even. As you can see, that is not going to be the case every time and eventually you lose too much and you don’t have the money needed to get back to even.
