No Trolling. Do not make random unsolicited and/or controversial comments with the intent of baiting or provoking unsuspecting readers to engage in hostile arguments. Trolling, in all its forms, will lead to a suspension or permanent ban. Do not waste people’s time. It’s the most valuable resource we have.
Units of the new cryptocurrency are then created. When a transaction is made the units are carefully formed and preserved through algorithmic encryption, then linked together in enormous chains of data (term is blockchains) , where the currency can be tracked and exchanged.
One big difference to Forex are the big spreads. A spread is the difference between ask and bid prices. The ask price is the highest price that someone wants for a given cryptocurrency, this is essentially the buying price. The bid price is the lowest price someone is willing to give you for a given cryptocurrency, this is basically the selling price.
BTCe is a decent all round exchange focusing on its core base in Eastern Europe. Pairs include fiat to fiat, fiat to crypto, and crypto to crypto – although limited to the major volume currencies. The exchange allows both E-currency and wire transfers for depositing funds.
If there isn’t a centralized exchange system or limitations and regulations fluctuate from one platform to another, then why would you choose to trade cryptocurrencies? One of the key reasons why people choose to trade Bitcoin over other currencies is due to its availability on the global scale. There is no timeframe during which Bitcoin can be traded, the market never closes and is always open to trading. Weekends don’t exist for Bitcoin, so you can trade any time of the day, during any day. Whatever is most convenient for you, wherever is most convenient for you, Bitcoin will be there for you to trade.
Given that the cryptocurrency market is still a pipsqueak in size compared to stocks or forex, price movements are highly influenced by news. Coins can erupt in value when new developments or partnerships are announced, creating a momentary explosion in value.
Do you think it’s possible for AUR to regain? I know the airdrop is scheduled for the 25th, but do you actually think the coin will boom before or on that date? My gut is telling me that we’ve already seen AUR’s prime unfortunately.
You don’t want some measly little 10% ROI after a year in the plain old stock market. That’s for grandpas and old people. You want quit-your-job with a middle finger, fuck you money! Am I right or am I right?
While the offer lasts, supporters of the initiative and other enthusiasts are given access to purchasing the distributed cryptocoins (Tokens) with virtual currency or fiat. The tokens you purchase are just like the shares you buy in a company with an Initial Public Offering (IPO).
While the treatment of Hard Forks and similar events (incl. “airdrops” and other token allocation events) is uncertain from a legal and practical perspective, Swissquote’s current policy in this regard is to make its best efforts to have its concerned clients benefit from such events, the way Swissquote deems appropriate. For more details, please refer to the Cryptocurrencies Trading Contract, in particular article 6, and to Swissquote’s communication on Bitcoin and Hard Forks dated 13 November 2017.

Bitcoin is a global currency. It is not tied to any state, and therefore it can be considered in some measure independent. Of course, it is influenced by events that occur in the world. For example, if in some country there is a depreciation of the local currency or if Greece takes another loan, then you can be sure that BTC will change its course a little. The crisis of 2013 greatly affected the cost of BTC. It was then in Cyprus (a significant offshore zone) introduced control over bank accounts. Account holders decided to pay attention to BTC because this currency cannot be controlled;
“Every bank and branch must carry out self-inspection and rectification, starting from today. Service for cryptocurrency trading is strictly prohibited. Effective measures should be adopted to prevent payment channels from being used for cryptocurrency settlement,” the central bank said.
Note: If Governments decide to put a stop to the cryptoasset economy, there is a crucial distinction between Bitcoin and Ethereum. Bitcoin is truly decentralised. It has honeybadger, even cockroach qualities and is resistant to such measures. Ethereum is a registered commercial legal entity in Switzerland and can be shut down overnight.
At the most basic level, a cryptocurrency is really no different than the money you have in your wallet in the sense that they have no intrinsic value and cryptocurrency are just bits of data while real money is just pieces of paper.
Reward:Risk ratios – this refers to how much you anticipate you will profit from a trade, compared with how much you could lose. For example: you enter a trade at $1.00 and set your stop loss at $0.90. If you take profit at $1.20, this is a 2:1 reward-to-risk ratio. Generally, in day trading, you want to aim between 1.5:1 and 3:1.
Nearly a decade later, a web-based payment system was developed and is still used today — PayPal. By using money online, the idea of moving traditional currencies between different end users gained momentum. PayPal further established the web’s credibility as a powerful medium of sending/receiving currencies. Afterwards, many similar services such as e-Gold and WebMoney were developed.
I first started writing about cryptocurrencies in 2013, and mined Bitcoin from my laptop that year. I also had the pleasure of being quoted by Minyanville for an analysis in my article titled, Bitcoin Arbitrage, Scalping Market Inefficiencies, and Currency Market Share Gradual Shift, which appeared on Yahoo Finance.
Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin have enjoyed some of the highest returns in modern investment history (Litecoin +1,762.97% since last year), so there’s really no reason not to trade them. If you’re patient and disciplined, you will have a good shot at making money, or at least have some fun trading.
Sometimes you think you see a chocolate pudding, and it turns out to be a bowl of shit. It all looked so well for the HempCoin ($THC) when we wrote our Hodl That #8, and at first, the plan seemed to work out nicely, even with the bitcoin moves that massacred altcoins across the board. The support around 2k sats held bravely and once the team behind $thc published their new whitepaper, with further masternodes and other significant pieces of information for a bright future the price went up slowly. And then it went it south. It dived deeper then Hagbard…
A friend has recommended the Canadian exchange “Quadrigacx.com” for the sale of the main cryptos (including Bitcoin Gold). Surprisingly. they require NO verification for the cashing out of cryptos. Their interface is clear and simple.
In future articles I will discuss in more detail some of the strategies I’m using to set my limit orders. But hopefully this article serves as a comprehensive guide to getting started trading cryptocurrencies on an exchange.
Firstly, I want to outline why the portfolio rebalancing has worked for me. My original investment was just in Bitcoin with a small amount of Ethereum, but as my investment grew I started to sell Bitcoin and buy others. During these early days, I blindly invested in a few other coins, Golem, Augur, Steem, Dash and Monero, but with no real strategy. Over the first couple of months, my portfolio made some modest gains.
In addition to Robinhood Crypto, the company announced the launch of Robinhood Feed, a social media-type platform which will enable investors to discuss different cryptocurrencies, news surrounding the space and the markets in real-time.
Since Bitcoin’s official release in January 2009, cryptocoins have transformed the financial industry. Many have heard about popular cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum or Bitcoin or Ripple, but few know how they where they come from or what is needed to get started in the crypto space. So this is your guide to understanding cryptocurrencies and how they are reinventing the financial landscape of tomorrow.
The project went live in 2015 but by 2016, the value of an Ether skyrocketed to $14 per coin. If you spent $100 then, it would have given you 250 Ethers and by the end of 2 years (in 2016), that would have been worth $3,500.
